MESHUP'07 CALL OF PAPERS

The FIRST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MESHUP

MeshUp State of Art, Opportunities, Conflicts and Challenges of

Barcelona, 19-22 April, 2007

http://MeshUp.org

Conference Description

The MeshUp Conference will have plenary sessions with a main forum of discussion and several dedicated sessions focused on specific thematic areas. The conference will be preceeded by a previous Workshop on Networking 2.0. The conference will have acomplementary Social Programme. All these will provide a friendly and unofficial MeshUpCamp enabling exchange of experience, networking relationships and generation of new knowledge.

Conference Background

MeshUp is the Information and Communication technology to merge different public and/or private data, content, applications, licenses, net capabilities, device and embedded systems from different owners, suppliers or providers of new services.

MeshUp technologies facilitate distributed and heterogeneous information networks, wireless, broadcast and home networks which create and provide new information and communication services with various interfaces, applications, communication channels and policies. The basic concept behind the MeshUp open space is very simple: When individuals and organisations gain free and simplified access to an integrated open base of information services and contents, which are free to integrate and modify, a new resource environment evolves. By satisfying their needs users and resource providers enhance and upgrade the system. Unlimited end-user participation in itself will be a source of innovation.

MeshUps are unlimited and evolving ecological meshes of networks . They are supported by nanotechnology processing to wireless mobile networks that distribute the networking infrastructure throughout all associated devices. They store and process data in ambient, intelligent and interactive systems connecting people and data with systems evolving as they develop. Network 2.0 in this context of enterprise and web applications is the ability of a person or team to work and interact with others internet supported facilities. The results of such a joint efforts are synergetic opportunities, new business models, technologies and geographical "globalization" of local competencies.

Conference Objectives and Topics

The Conference constitutes an opportunity to bring MeshUp experts, technicians, practitioners, economists, journalist and scientists together to discuss the MeshUps state of the art and future challenges including creation of content, information services and trade. The Conference aims to provide a forum for reviewing the state of the art and new directions in the scientific, technological, economic, social and political issues related to the MeshUp. It will also contribute to increased research and business cooperation in world projects.

Description

MeshUp Conference has a main forum of discussion in plenary sessions, workshops and networking sessions on specific thematic areas. It is complemented with a complet Social Programme and after and before of these activities, with a more friendly and unofficial MeshUpCamps with free exchange of experience and generation of new knowledge.

Background

MeshUp new information and communication technologies to collect and merge data and available contents in new integrated applications and information services to the society.

The basic concept behind the MeshUp open space is very simple: When individuals and organisations gain free and simplified access to an integrated open base of information services, contents and platforms and are free to integrate and modify them the whole resource environment evolves. By satisfying their needs users and resource providers enhance and upgrade the system. Unlimited end-user participation will be a source of innovation.

MeshUp merges many data and contents, loosely adding knowledge in a practical information service for all. MeshUps connect crossing networks of data, breeding the usability and feasibility with hybrids contents and interfaces.

MeshUps are ecological evolving meshes of networks without obvious limits, from nanotechnological wearable processing to wireless mobile networks that distribute the infrastructure throughout all devices which store and process data in ambients intelligent in interactive systems of people and data and evolve for sustainable principles of survival.

Network 2.0 in the context of enterprise and web applications is the ability of a person or team to work and interact with other person/team through the web and internet in a join effort with all the synergistic opportunities raised by new business models, available contents and technologies and geographical localization "glocalization". Audience-relationship businesses take these proliferating content options as an opportunity, rather than a challenge. The more options there are, the more value that can be created by producing, organising, packaging, presenting and adding to these options for specific content audiences and clients. So the producers and consumers need to see themselves as members of open networks and immerse in a global Meshup. All2All or All4All.

Objectives and Topics

The Conference constitutes an opportunity to bring Information and Communication MeshUp experts, technicians, practitioners, economists, journalist and scientists to discuss the actual situation and future challenges of MeshUps and the content production and Information services provision and trade. The Conference aims to provide a forum for reviewing the state of the art and new directions in the scientific, technological, economic, social and political issues related to the MeshUp. It can also contribute to increased research and business cooperation in world projects.
